INFO

A complete redesign of the JACOB online shop and its underlying design system for Shopware. The project transformed an outdated, data-driven storefront into a modern and distinctive tech experience for both B2C and B2B customers. The new system introduced a bold electric color palette, scalable UI components and a consistent visual and interaction language across the shop.

PROBLEM

The existing shop lacked a modern, user-focused design and relied heavily on campaign graphics provided by the manufacturer. Text and buttons were often embedded directly into images, which limited flexibility, accessibility, and SEO potential. Meanwhile, the new storefront needed to serve both B2C and B2B audiences, and support a large, continuously growing product catalogue.

SOLUTION

A scalable Figma design system was developed in close collaboration with Shopware developers, covering the shop’s core components, layouts and responsive experiences. A key focus was a new banner system that uses JACOB’s electric color palette to visually categorize product groups. A defined layout separates imagery from live text and interactive elements, ensuring consistent readability regardless of the supplied product image while enabling clickable, SEO-friendly buttons. The system also established a more efficient campaign workflow, later adopted by the purchasing team for homepage campaigns. Post-launch user calls and checkout testing helped identify technical issues and validate the overall experience.
